Its antifungal compound, which contains pyrithione, zinc, and piroctone olamine, inhibits the growth of Malassezia yeast, the primary cause of dandruff. It suppresses their spread and avoids their recurrence. Salicylic acid eliminates scales. The scalp is washed without drying, and itching and irritations are relieved.
